I have one daughter in the midst of three boys. May I just say that I am so very thankful that she is one hundred percent girl? I don't think that there is an ounce of tom boy in her. She loves to play outside and get dirty, but she is all princess in that she loves trying different hair styles and using cosmetics makeup.
I don't allow her to go out of the house with makeup on. I think that is something that should be reserved for when she is older. Right now I am teaching her that beauty comes from inside her heart. However, she does still get to use her cosmetics makeup for play purposes. She enjoys having other girls over. I can always find them with sparkles on their eyes and a different shade of lipstick on every fifteen minutes.
Her hair styles change from double pigtails to braids to a ponytail as quickly as the lipstick shade changes. However, her favorite still seems to be pulling it back from her face with a headband. She loves to have it long. I had her cut it shorter before the summer a couple of years ago, and she did nothing but cry over it until it grew back out. She is a princess.
