Hair Care for Colored Hair |

I have noticed some big changes in my hair as I have grown more mature. Yes, it has lost some of the color I was born with but when I began to color it I saw other changes as well. First of all the texture has completely changed. My hair was always straight and had no body. Now after coloring it for a few years it is a puffier texture and very bouncy.
My hair care process has changed too. I have to reapply the color every six weeks or so as my hair grows out. Hair care now-a-days means using shampoo and cream rinse made specifically for colored hair. The shampoo will prolong the life of the color, keeping it looking brilliant. The rinse adds a healthy shine to what otherwise could be dingy, dull colored hair. I have found it necessary to adjust my hair style as my hair grows out. In other words I may wear my hair down for the first few weeks after a fresh color job. But then as the roots grow out I begin to pull the hair back into pony tails more often than not. Hair care for my mid-life locks is a never ending process if I choose to use hair color. Otherwise I could let nature take it's course but I am definitely not ready for that! |
