I was over at his place that night, sipping on a cold beer watching TV, talking about random video game features when he piped in and told me about the promotion he had received earlier in the day. He is not someone who shows that much emotion but from the twinkle in his eye even behind the smoke screen of words he said about not knowing how he is going to migrate into his new tasks I could tell he was super excited.

This promotion is going to put him in front of a sales team handing out ideas for both company changes, marketing moves and better business practices. His old position was as a gofer of sorts where he assisted in departments ranging from IT to marketing. The upper management took notice of his hard work and now he has a big new title. I told him he better get a new hair style that oozes authority. I then joked about cutting off his side burns and growing a mustache to show his team that he meant business.

He did say he would have to buy some new clothes, hair care products and probably get a shorter hair style for a more corporate look.
